Zookal began in Australia in 2011, the brainchild of a bunch of students sick of spending hundreds of dollars on expensive textbooks. The premise is simple - students can rent required textbooks for the semester and return them once exams are over. This easy-to-use system means you can save up to 70% on your required course materials, and you aren’t left with a bunch of books you won’t touch again at the end of your degree!
Since it began, Zookal has grown to offer the guaranteed best prices on Australian textbooks, offering the materials you need to nail your classes at prices you can afford. With options to purchase textbooks new, rent e-textbooks and buy stationary too, Zookal has become the Aussie students’ go-to for all of the semester staples. Let’s face it, it’s hard to find the motivation to study at the best of times, but with a cheap, easy-to-use textbook system you’ve got one less reason not to hit the books.

The due date to return Zookal textbooks is usually a week or two after the end of the semester. After this, you will be charged $5 per week until you return it. Zookal still offers free returns after the due date.
